My final animation (see above link) is based on my Studio VIII project from IIT's Paris Program Studio. The studio, taught by Gerald Horn, revolved around a canal, the Bassin De La Villette, in Paris France. Our assignment was to create a building program for the Rowing Club. I chose to go with a simple structure which houses the Scull Storage, Exercise room, lockers and meeting rooms the Club needed in addition to the Café, bar, and viewing station for the public. To tie the two elements together (Public and Private) I used a suspension-like bridge as a way to experience the canal where the rowers hold races. Pedestrian and fan alike can view races, access the building and experience Parisian life from this free-form, outdoor feature.
