Claudia Greiner was born 1982 at the border triangle of Germany, Switzerland and France. She grew up in the same architectural enriched environment as Herzog&De Meuron (Basel, Switzerland). The Vitra Design Museum (Weil am Rhein, Germany) and its buildings designed by Frank Gehry, Tadao Ando, Zaha Hadid, Alvaro Siza and Jean Prouvé, had great significance in her decision to become an architect.
From 2004 to 2011 she studied Architecture at Technical University of Kaiserslautern, Germany. The university is well known for its clarity of forms and functionality, which was influenced by Bauhaus Architecture.
While doing her internship at Studio Gualano+Gualano Arquitectos in Montevideo, Uruguay she became familiar with South American Architecture, especially from Uruguay and Brazil. She experienced a different plainness of facade materials, the combination of common and new materials was one of the architect`s philosophy.
After completing her Master in Architecture at Kaiserslautern Technical University in Germany, she started working as a Junior Architect at Ferrara Architekten AG in Basel, Switzerland. Within six months in the company, Claudia became a Project Manager of two residential projects. She was also in charge of competitions and case studies.
In the meanwhile she has been accredited as a licensed architect by the Baden-Wuerttemberg Chamber of Architects.
Claudia continued her career as a Trainee at Montalba Architects in Santa Monica, CA, USA. She wanted to experience something new, and made it a self-project in finding her architectural position as a young Architect. Just as architecture itself, it is a process of finding the right solution by looking into different directions.
