I have always had a passion for architectural design, and my time at Penn State's School of Architecture has only fostered this passion. I strive to make a positive impact in the lives of others by not only learning as much as I can but also teaching.
The design philosophy I have developed has its roots in the goals of the community and site while responding to programmatic necessities. I am always thinking from the perspective of the users and visitors of my projects. This has led me to produce projects that communicate with and enhance the public realm both within and outside of those projects. Many of my projects incorporate daylight concepts and consider environmental impacts. This philosophy can be translated to relate to client needs as well.
My skill set comes from a strong background in computer software, although I could never have reached this point without understanding the value of hand drawing and sketching. I am motivated, self-driven, and I enjoy seeking new ways to learn more and improve myself, whether it is within the realm of architecture or not. I have also found that many students feel constrained by the tools that they use, while I can take advantage of and control my tools, instead of letting them control me.
Remaining an active part of the architectural community is very important to me. As an Autodesk Student Expert, I served on a webcast panel discussing new Autodesk software. At Penn State, I have led several workshops on computer programs and mentor incoming architecture students.
