I'm a current project architect here in Helsinki, Finland at ALA Architects. I am originally from the United States and received my Masters of Architecture from University of Washington in Seattle, where I lived for seven years. I had worked for a multifamily housing firm, Runberg Architecture Group, before I picked up and moved to the Nordics to focus on wood construction with high design and conceptual knowledge. I have worked as a project architect since 2019, with most recently completing Events Centre Satama in Kotka, Finland, which opened August 2023. In addition to being project architect, I manage our firm's Revit standards and project usage as a BIM coordinator, being able to model and produce quality drawings to a very high standard in construction.
On the side, I do have my own sole proprietorship here in Finland and partake in design competitions here as Byro Vingi. I find it necessary to balance my motivation with more conceptual work on the side, while digging in the nitty gritty of detailing, code compliance, and construction documentation.
I hold certificates in lighting design and certificates in sustainable systems and design. In addition to these, I am fully licensed here in Finland, working as a rakennussuunnittelija, certified by FISE, and am a member of the Finnish Architecture Union SAFA.
