Robert Bruce Thompson
Bruce Thompson was a twenty-five year veteran of the lighting industry.
He had a broad background in the profession having worked in theatre,
retail, as a factory representative, and concluding his career in
manufacturing as vice president of sales and marketing. Throughout his
career Bruce emphasized design and innovation. He was also an
accomplished light fixture designer. He established this independent competition to encourage creativity and education in light fixture design
and manufacturing.
The competition is administered by The Robert Bruce Thompson Trust,
which was formed solely for the purpose of conducting the competition.

Xiandai Corporation Student Competition, 3rd Place
JAPAN Architectural Freshman Competition, Honorable Mention
This award is a international competition of studio works from architecture students under third year. The first round will select 100 projects into the second round, which will be an open exhibition. Juries vote at the exhibition the most excellent projects. Both round will take place in Japan, China and Korea separately. Winners in these countries will compete on the same stage. This competition is to scout students with potential, and is also to promote communications between schools and countries, pushing the discipline to its boundaries.
