Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is Catalina Barbero Ozaita. I am a Spanish Architect with two years (2+) of post-graduation work experience acquired in the USA as an Assistant Project Manager at Inglese Architecture and Engineering and as an Architect in Spain.

During my undergraduate and graduate years, I have taken courses on Architectural Design, Construction and Building Technology, History of Art and Architecture, Structural Design, Physics and Mathematics, amongst others. I especially liked Structural and Architectural Design. I believe that, in order to become a competent Architect, it is important to combine technical skills and creativity. 

I have been working from February 2017 to February 2018 as an Architecture Assistant Project Manager at Inglese Architecture & Engineering with a J-1 visa that has allowed me to work in the USA through an exchange visitor program. My main occupations have been producing feasibility studies and presentation packages for developers to maximize efficiency for rentable commercial and residential areas; leading the production of schematic designs, design development and 3D modeling; designing, detailing and coordinating construction documents for market-rate and affordable housing projects; and assisting senior staff (both Architects and Engineers) with preparing programming, analysis, conceptual and schematic design concepts, project layouts, develop Site Planning, building designs and performing civil and structural calculations and drafting. 

Currently, I am working as an Architect at wAS Arquitectos. My main occupations are leading the production of construction documents for market-rate multifamily housing projects, preparing measurements and budgets and assisting senior staff with project report dossiers ranging from feasibility studies to Design Development and Planning Board.

As you can see in my CV, in addition to my degree in Architecture I have a solid education in Music, which I started at the age of five. This artistic experience not only required a lot of discipline but also forced me to develop organizational skills owing to the amount of time that I had to devote to studying and attending classes. My dual education and all the effort that it involved has made me capable of coping with conflicting demands, able to prioritize tasks, working effectively under pressure and meeting deadlines. Also, I had to learn how to be part of a team and build good interpersonal relationships as a result of my participation in different musical ensembles such as the Pehlivanian Project Orchestra.

Since I was a child I have met people from many countries and cultures. I have always been interested in languages and in particular English, which I started learning as a child in the United States, and French. I enjoy travelling and knowing different places and people.

I am very interested to work as an Architect because I have always found Architectural design the most interesting and challenging part of our profession and I believe that both Inglese Architecture & Engineering and wAS Arquitectos have provided me a perfect environment to develop both a new sense of creativity and construction performance and design. In addition, I believe that my education, work experience and skills make me a perfect candidate for the Architect position and I think that, if I eventually work with your firm, it will be an enriching and profitable experience for both parts.
