Rodriguez-Valencia Architects, Junior Architect

The year before I went to RISD while I was working at Rodriguez-Valencia Architects, I was the head architect of the remodeling of an apartment  (5382 ft2) I was tasked with revamping the floor plan as well as the design of the carpentry and lighting for the whole apartment. 

The building was constructed in 1994 and the family that owns the apartment has been lining there ever since, it used to have 4 bedrooms and 4 1/2 bathrooms, but since their daughters have moved out the floor plan was changed to a 3 bedroom and a family room was inserted in its place as well as lots of other arrangements to the floor plan. 

The main design strategy was to isolate all the wasted space and turn it into meaningful areas that would encourage family interactions.
