Boadilla del Monte, ES
Located in the -El Bercial- neighborhood, with garages, sports facilities (swimming pool and paddle tennis), a children's play area integrated into a common interior space of green and living areas.
In this project of single-family homes in Getafe we have applied the project concept that is born from the natural phenomenon Jameos del agua; a natural space and an art, cultural and tourism center designed by César Manrique. Located in the municipality of Haría in the north of the island of Lanzarote. Los Jameos are within the Volcano and Malpaís de La Corona Natural Park and since December 19, 1994 it was classified as a site of scientific interest. It is also considered an area of ecological sensitivity.
INTRODUCTION
Jameos del Agua is, therefore, a unique space located on a unique island. For this reason we want to achieve a unique space from the place where the project is located. This concept has inspired a unique promotion of 20 single-family homes, within El Bercial, a modern and comfortable neighborhood, with large avenues and large green garden areas, in the municipality of Getafe. The site is bordered on three sides by streets; three roads with road and pedestrian traffic and one pedestrian. This allows us to obtain four facades of the set.
The project aims to respond to a situation of “urban unity”, surrounded by a quiet suburban landscape, emerging as a small discovery, something different found at random, just like when an astrologer suddenly discovers that celestial body that he was looking for precisely in the most unexpected place.
CONCEPT
The term jameos del agua refers to the volcanic tubes that lack a crown and these specifically belong to the large underground cavity—one of the largest in the world—that runs from the Corona Volcano. The spectacular geological space of Jameos del Agua was a place already known but was in a state of abandonment and degraded. In the common areas, the formal details of the furniture, decoration, gardening and lighting have been taken care of in the project, inspired by this natural phenomenon.
With an avant-garde design, the work of Architect José María Carrillo Rodríguez, which differentiates it from its surroundings and makes it exclusive, Los Jameos del Agua combines the privacy of a single-family home with the ease of neighborhood relations in interior common areas equipped with a swimming pool. , paddle tennis and living areas by simply opening the door to our back porch. A residential complex that also has a community garage with two large parking spaces, a storage room and access from our parking spaces to the basement home.
In the Jameos del Agua, José María Carrillo exposes the key that he will follow in his spatial intervention: with the play of cracks as orated or eroded by water on the facades, which is reminiscent of the natural phenomenon of Lapiaz, in tune with contemporary artistic languages in contrast to more serene lines that lead to a central area with green areas, different hard textures and the sheet of water from the pool that is reminiscent of the jameos of water. A recipe that is synthesized in the Art-Nature binomial and that gives rise to a masterful combination of landscape and aesthetic value.
The intervention in the Jameos del Agua offers an idyllic symbiosis between the plastic potential of this impressive cave and what has been done by man. An unusual, subtle and eloquent solution is provided for the façade that enhances the intrinsic beauty of the homes without artificially masking it, reminiscent of this phenomenon that occurs in carbonate rocks forming those lapiace structures, that set of grooves, striations and deep channels of small or medium dimensions that originate on the surface of limestone rocks due to the erosive action of wild waters.
OUTDOORS
The stone exterior appearance is enhanced by the choice of façade materials. Its stone skin contrasts in black and white tones, which combined generate a chromaticism with warm contrasts, easily adaptable to the environment, generating warm and elegant environments. At the back of each house we will find a garden with a seating and green area, where it forms a small garden that will increase the feeling of calm, right where the living room, kitchen and secondary bedrooms on the upper floor open. The housing complex differs from the traditional urban fabric that makes up the single-family home within the Bercial neighborhood in Getafe.
