About 

Carrie is a designer, researcher, and teacher, currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Architecture at the University of California, Los Angeles. She works as a Senior Research Associate at cityLAB UCLA, a Teaching Fellow at SCI-Arc, and a Teaching Assistant Consultant at UCLA Architecture and Urban Design. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Rice University and a Master in Design Studies (Critical Conservation) with a Letter of Commendation from the Harvard Graduate School of Design.

Carrie’s research engages the intersection of architectural history, property law, and political economy, with a particular focus on land, loans, and intermediary organizations, from the Homestead Act of 1862 to the Housing Act of 1937.
