Chongqing Yubei Joy City

Joy City is a large commercial mixed-use project, including shopping center, office towers, iMax cinema, themed open space and outdoor theater. The building is located in newly-developed Yubei District, bounded by Sports Park in the south and close to Chongqing Central Park in the east, which is one of the largest urban parks in China. It aims to preserve the ecological environment while promoting the commercial activities.

Below the iconic red gallery box, you’ll find a distinctive feature: the social stairs and bridge, designed with a canyon-inspired concept. As you walk through, it feels like exploring a canyon, surrounded by materials and spaces reminiscent of nature.
One stairs offers views of the natural landscape, with a lush park and river. Its design reflects the organic curves of nature and is filled with greenery, providing a peaceful retreat.

On the other side, the stairs faces the city, blending in with urban materials and ambiance. It’s a space that seamlessly fits into the cityscape.
Together, these social stairs and bridge not only serve as functional pathways but also as experiential spaces, where visitors can connect with both nature and the cityscape in a unique and immersive way.
