I am a recent graduate of Iowa State University College of Design with my Bahelor's in Architecture. I am constantly looking to expand my design career through internships and job opportunities. My work in design has mainly been focused around the projects and competitions related to my schoolwork, however I am beginning to expand my portfolio through employment and independent projects. My goal is to create, using architecture, moments of enjoyment in both the ordinary and extraordinary.
My perspective on design is informed by three different worlds. From one, I currently work as a client development intern for BNIM Architects, helping with project documentation and managing information, along with other miscellaneous studio tasks. From another, I worked for six years in the field of information technology, as both a student manager and system analyst, developing information management skills, specializing in the role of technology with client interaction. Finally, I continue to work in theater, both as an improv comedian, developing teamwork, presentation and idea generating skills, and I also work as a designer, helping with set design for plays. In the past, I design for Iowa State University's theater department in such shows as Dog Sees God, Alice in Wonderland, and Chekhov Short Stories.
All three of these worlds help to frame my outlook and theory of design. Primarily, I have begun developing my connections between theater, architecture, and technology, developing a methodology that explores the new advances in technology as well as the necessity of play and improvisation in the design process.
BNIM, Kansas City, MO, US, Summer Intern
I worked with the Business Development team (the Spark Team) to update records in Vision using information from Newforma and other files in network shares to keep them up to date so that when a new intranet and website are implemented, these systems could work in tandem to bring relevant and current information about projects to potential clients and the public. I also managed the BNIM photo library in OpenAsset during this time.
I also worked with a studio team working on the Bancroft School housing redevelopment. With them I worked on making redline changes in Revit.

I am also responsible for a our knowledgebase of answers that all employees use as well as users.

Iowa State University, Ames, IA, BArch, Architecture
Though I do not carry a minor or second degree, I allowed my studies to give me a wide range of perspectives to better inform my design opinions. Currently, at the end of my degree studies, I have gone across America, overseas to Europe, worked in IT, worked in the design field, gone to Burning Man, created sets and theatrical designs, and much more. As such, I have seen and done much to bolster my education beyond the normal curriculum of an architecture student.
