Burgos & Garrido Arquitectos Asociados is an architecture office founded by Francisco Burgos and Ginés Garrido in 2002 in Madrid, Spain. Both are Professors at the Department of Architectural Projects [ETSAM] UP Madrid. The office has an open structure with frequent collaborations with other architects in Spain and abroad. This attitude allows considering and developing projects with pragmatism and effectiveness.
It is a practice with experience in national and international housing projects, cultural and administrative facilities and urban design.
Their successfully completed interventions include the Madrid Rio project, awarded in 2016 with the XII Veronica Rudge Green Prize in Urban Design. This award is granted to urban design projects built in the last ten years which stand out for their excellent design and ability to transform cities through carefully planned interventions comprising responsible social strategies that improve the public realm and the citizens’ quality of life.
Burgos & Garrido Arquitectos Asociados has also completed diverse social housing projects and has participated in numerous competitions, recently winning, together with LLAMA Urban Design, the international competition for the extension of the MALI [The Lima Art Museum].
