I am a little over one year graduated from college with a Master of Architecture. I am certainly not a master of architecture yet! I have a lot to learn and many tests to study for before I make the ultimate leep to "architect." Directly out of school, I sought experience in preservation architecture where I can exercise my beliefs in sustainable design and preservation culture. I truly believe that the most sustainable building is the one that already exists. The more I discover about historic and existing buildings, the more this belief is affirmed. I also have a continued interest in volunteerism and humanitarianism. I am working on growing these roots in Kansas City by getting involved with the community through a few organizations including Habitat for Humanity, Historic Kansas City and AIA Kansas City. My goals include pursuing licensure and Leed AP in the next few years. I then plan to attend graduate school where I can learn the true art and science of preservation architecture.
As I work towards these career goals, I continue to pursue my passions in art, history, architecture and helping others.
