This is my first design entirely from scratch that was scheduled for construction. The design features four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The challenge of this design was to maximize usable space on an oddly shaped property. The clients requested a space where they can entertain a large amount of guests while still maintaining privacy in the bedrooms. As a result the house features separate and distinct programs of privacy and publicity allowing the user to retreat to the privacy of the bedroom and bathroom quarters without having to worry about interference from guests. This difference in programs is reflected by the change in materiality on the exterior, and the transition to an orthogonal layout on the interior.
