Part of a 5-year master plan, the existing lab space in a 1923 building was divided into small separate labs, reducing the potential for higher utilization, sharing equipment and collaboration among researchers. The plan creates a large open wet lab resulting in significantly more bench space and specialty alcoves. The office/administrative program has been relocated to less flexible space and will house the division’s faculty and administrative personnel.
