Hexagonal photovoltaic laminated glass for curved BIPV systems

    (Building-Integrated Photovoltaics)

THE UNISOLAR GROUP, SOLIKER     &     MARTÍN FERRERO ARCHITECTURE

This photovoltaic laminated glass of hexagonal shape is based on a-Si thin-film technology and serves to ensure complete photovoltaic integration for curved systems.

This photovoltaic glass is produced by projecting fine layers of amorphous silicon onto glass featuring high optical transmittance. Subsequently, special lasers are used to design and interconnect the cells that make up the device. The use of hydrogenated amorphous silicon as an absorbent material eliminates many of the problems posed by crystalline silicon when it is used for BIPV systems (Building-Integrated Photovoltaics).
