So term hasn't even started yet...

    ...and I am absolutely swamped.

One of the best things about final year at any masters course in Architecture is the dissertation. It pretty much dictates your entire holiday - if you want to do well at it you can forget about doing a job at practice unless you are incredibly organized and motivated, but if you're like most students you start the whole thing about 2 weeks before hand in despite stressing about it all summer.

I figured I'd try and be organized enough to get the thing written a couple of months in advance. Little did I know that despite three weeks working on it solidly every day and I've only just sent out draft 1.1 (yes I even included a revision history) to my tutor for comment and to a couple of mates. My advice; if you're in a position where you have to write your dissertation, get it going as soon as you can.

WIP Draft 1.1: 89 pages that's going to get proverbially hammered into submission.

On another note, since the paper is partly to do with online architectural communities, I'm honoured that Paul has not only granted me a brief interview, but also piqued my interest enough to blog my final year at Sheffield. More on the actual content of the paper in my next post.

    Skål!
