This rather narrow (16' wide) South End Town House backing onto a beautiful private urban park was in a woeful state of disrepair. Years of a leaky roof had degraded any original finishes past the state of saving and had caused the rear wall to detach from the rest of the buikding and lean toward the park. Rebuilding this wall was an oportunity to open the house to the park in many ways. Adapting the vocabulary of the openings to the 19th Century profiles, intervals and mechanics and re-using the face brick maintains its compatiblity with the neighboors
