My name is Brandon Chin and I currently am enrolled in the Advanced Architecture Graduate program at University of Southern California.
I am a World Champion Gold Medalist and community builder that became passionate about architecture from participating in music and performing arts for 14 years, all while traveling to 50 United States cities, Hong Kong, and Australia. On one end, through music, I developed an appreciation for how systems work and how individual components such as music arrangements and production qualities contribute to the success of the entire system while working with others. And on the other end, through travels and visiting family, I have seen what effective architecture with its success in promoting successful and growing economies, civic engagement, public health, and safety, and most importantly, user experience. Similar to architecture, I have developed a great appreciation for how tectonics, site response, documentation, research, process, and user experience contribute to the success of design iteration. And, as a person who self-identifies as a minority and a member of the LGBTQIA community, it is my responsibility to pursue and design to provide a fresh take on perspective, providing solutions, and thinking of ways as to how I can best help people.
