I am Berenice Sánchez, a year ago I graduated as an Architect from the UTE University in Quito-Ecuador. I previously did my internship at a local construction company.
During my degree work process, I have demonstrated a deep interest in relationships with the Urban-Social context, developing a project that is inserted in an interesting and respectful way in an area of complex social conditions such as Calderón, a sector that has been affected by the lack of updating of urban plans. The proposal proposes a residence for a senile population that is growing and at the same time connects it with cultural spaces for multigenerational immersion. The project creates ties at key points for the activity of those who would be part of the residence and at the same time focuses on the pre-existing paths of the immediate context, which together with the urban proposal complement with perimeter connections. The project has not only architectural and urban overtones, it has a social intention that can be read in all its layers.

In my four year full-time program, I learnt how to plan, design, and construct different types of physical buildings, to handle materials, explore structural systems, and refine building details. And I stayed with the idea of using both urbanism and architecture as tools to implement human life, to always aim to make it better every time.
