About 

Three years with Astorino following twenty three years with Burt Hill/Stantec. Recent experience has been balanced primarily between construction documentation and modeling using Revit, conceptual design modeling with SketchUp and artistic non-photoreal digital architectural illustration using Photoshop occasionally combined with near-photoreal programs such as Shaderlight.  See portfolio website: www.barryrgribe.com

Employment

Responsibilities included Revit modeling, detail designing and drafting in support of various projects in all phases; also submittal processing, design research, coordination with engineers and consultants, conceptual and schematic design.

Responsibilities also included artistic non-photoreal digital illustrations and sketches using Photoshop on over forty projects for proposals, competitions, charrettes, concept design, process sketches, 2d and 3d diagrams, post production and alterations to photoreal renderings and photo montages as well as final renderings for fund raising, marketing and publications; also, many SketchUp design and planning study models. Responsibilities included design and documentation work in all phases; solving technical design problems, coordinating with and supervising team members, analysis of codes, regulations and standards, code agency approvals, coordination with engineering and other consultants; research and integration of industrial components; assembling final production package; specification editing, quality control; approvals, bid procedures, submittals and other CA. Contract drawings were done using Microstation XM and earlier.

Responsibilities also included hand and digital sketches and illustrations on hundreds of projects. See portfolio website link above.

Kent State University Psychology Building (Kent Hall) alteration and addition - technical lead on addition.

Presbyterian University Hospital D-wing addition and Scaife Hall cafeteria addition - technical lead on shell.

Southpointe Plaza I and II base buildings - technical lead on shell.

Wheeling Jesuit University two dormitories – technical lead on shell.

The Heinz 57 Center base building restoration (the former Gimbel’s Building) – core and shell

The Highmark Building, (the former Joseph Horne’s Building),- core

Significant technical involvement on many other projects including Brickstone Square in Andover MA,
Minuteman Park in Andover MA, The Wanamaker Building in Philadelphia, PA, The Quehanna Motivational Boot Camp and numerous interiors projects.
