As land prices climb, the goal of owning a luxury home in the city is becoming
increasingly unattainable. This house is an attempt to satisfy a demand for luxury on a small parcel of land in the midst of a dense urban fabric.
The house is specially developed for a single family in need of a place to combine
privacy with socializing living space. With a limited surface area to build on, the
design takes an inspiration from compact luxury concept and a small practical
home that doesn't compromise on luxury is created.
The house built on a plot area of 30’x40’ (1200 square foot) embraces the principles of compact luxury featuring 4 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, an entertainment
room/multi utility room, a second family space, an open kitchen, a home office, and
a parking for two cars with a centrally located stairwell and a lift.
The triplex space planning encompasses the principles of minimalism and has been applied to all levels, such as the ground floor and 1st floor level are facilitated as semi-public zones, while private functions such as main bedroom, guest room, son's room, entertainment room and family sit out are situated on upper levels with a centrally located staircase allowing for a continuous journey between the spaces.
The divine double height pooja wall located on east side as per vastu is created to
be the focal point of the house and is visually connected with all levels.
The south facing façade is punctuated with step out louvered balconies and bay
windows that become an extension of rooms that enhance the relationship
between the interior and exterior and provide an opportunity to bring in a large
quantity of daylight.
The privacy from the adjacent houses that are in close proximity (almost abutting) is addressed by locating the windows away from direct sightlines.
The area is furnished with a variety of high-end features such as marble floors and
intricate teakwood windows and doors with enhanced size.
The design aims not only to improve visual quality, but also to encourage family and friends to move around and generate social activities among them, enjoy the
benefits of a luxurious house built on a small plot amidst dense urban fabric
