Originally designed by Ernö Goldfinger in 1962–7, Haggerston School is one of the outstanding school buildings of the period and is Grade II Listed.
The original school is composed of assembly block, main teaching block and sports block; these are now supplemented by the new art, design and ICT block. The design approach sought to recover the school’s architectural character, create stimulating spaces for learning, and bring the energy performance of the building to modern standards. Architectural interventions including the use of colour have brought vibrancy and natural wayfinding.
