This proposal for cooperative housing in Detroit’s historic Eastern Market neighborhood deploys a system of reconfigurable partitions, allowing dwelling units to accommodate a multiplicity of occupancy requirements. Additionally, a public tool lending library extends to the neighboring Dequindre Cut, asserting an affinity between the public labor of maintenance and the domestic labor of care work.
