Set in the heart of Philadelphia’s historic manufacturing district north of Vine Street, the Wood Street Lofts were part of the revitalization of this neighborhood in the early 2000’s.  Wanting to highlight the historic character of the warehouse and its function, ADL juxtaposed the raw existing structure with the minimal modern loft.  The exposed brick, steel structure, and existing machinery surround the new architecture as it appears to be carefully inserted and slid into place forming and defining the inhabitant’s living condition.
