In my six years of education at Ball State, my interest in the fields of design and communication allowed me to gain experience through creative problem solving; graphic and verbal presentations; and networking and personal branding. As a designer, collaboration and communication are key factors in successful project completion. Today more than ever, communications via avenues such as social media are presenting possibilities and challenges to businesses and especially design firms; my experiences have heightened my awareness to these outlets and furthered my interests in marketing and branding.
Writing has been a vital tool in my creative problem solving and communication methods exercises. Photography is also a creative outlet that I enjoy and has been a great means for documenting another passion – travel. In a world bursting at the seams with technological opportunities, this space is just one of several ways for me to communicate with the world!
The American Institute of Architects, Washington, DC, Manager, Center for Emerging Professionals
The AIA Center for Emerging Professionals exists to organize, advocate for, provide resources to, and represent the interests of emerging professionals—a diverse group of students, intern architects, and architects licensed less than ten years. I am currently responsible for developing, coordinating, and promoting educational programs and other knowledge resources for Emerging Professionals. I also develop content focused on Emerging Professionals activities for AIA communications channels. I currently update and maintain the "Career Stages" portion of AIA.org (www.aia.org/professionals). I assist various AIA member communities and committees, some jointly operated with NCARB. Our team works directly with NCARB staff to promote the architectural career track from education through licensure as well as support non-traditional career tracks.

Alpha Rho Chi Bronze Medal, Award
In 1931, the Grand Council of Alpha Rho Chi, the National Professional Fraternity for Architecture and the Allied Arts, established the Alpha Rho Chi Medal to "encourage professional leadership by rewarding student accomplishment." The Alpha Rho Chi Bronze Medal is awarded to graduating seniors at selected schools of architecture throughout the country who have shown an affinity for leadership, performed willing service for the school or department, and give promise of real professional merit through their attitude and personality.
