A Bamboo house- Eco house

The brief was to provide accommodation for 10 laborers, with two separate dorm rooms and a kitchen area. Owing to rapid urbanization and lack of feasible land, the space provided was a part of an open terrace area, thus adding to the challenges. The design aims at providing a comfortable space, which is also cost effective and sustainable. The choice of material was bamboo that is widely available in the area and can be easily deconstructed and reused. Every element in the structure is made up of bamboo using a combination of modern and traditional construction techniques, hence creating a conscious structure  made up of cozy warm spaces. The dwelling was not designed with a particular class of people in mind but pertains to a wide range of people.
