Minimum spaces, containing uses requiring fixed facilities or greater privacy, are stacked on the north side. A'maximum' space, containing the other functions, occupies the southern side and allows a free appropriation, open to interpretation and transformation.
Two wooden tiers, extending the shape of the site, occupy the main space. They are at the same time oversized furniture, agora, traffic, filters, etc.. They can be modified in three degrees, from everyday to exceptional. In the upper part they allow to enjoy the view while remaining in physical and visual continuity with the ground, while underneath, the space is introverted and dense.
Exploring contrasts, the quality of light and contact with the outside world, the concept is directly inspired by the context. At first glance, the difference between natural forms and constructed forms is highlighted. The close links between architecture and nature are woven through atmospheres, relationships, mimicry and materials.
The site, a southwest facing slope, was suitable for a project that combined the potential of views with the potential of passive solar heating. The overhang of the roof allows effective control of any summer overheating. The eastern cedar cladding comes from the region's forests.
