CITY FRAGMENT, a new photo installation project by artist/photographer Paul Clemence.
"A moment, a casual glance in the city, caught and transformed, from urban composition to individual reflection. As we go about our everyday lives in the city, do we notice what’s around us? The buildings we go in? The spaces we spend our days inside? Do we inhabit the city or does it take us on? With “City Fragment” artist/photographer Paul Clemence invites us to reflect on the city by bringing a piece of it inside. An abstract photograph of a glass curtain wall building, printed in oversized plexi-chrome panel, gives its subject matter a domestic scale as it is brought indoors. It thus becomes a mirror into which to investigate our relationship to the contemporary urban milieu. How do we fit in the glazed concrete jungle? Was that someone I see there? Is it me? You? Or just a magician's disappearing trick? What's real from what’s reflected? Are those clouds in the sky or is it all just an urban mirage?"
