For thesis, I proposed to reconfigure the idea of a “hotel”. I felt that there was a need to experiment with this rigid boundary between the inside and the outside.  Also how a temporary stay can also begin to give that flavor of the city that’s unique because of its surroundings for the tourists. A system needed to be developed for the tourists where they can better connect with their surroundings and feel like they are a part of this collective environment. Also aiming at providing benefits to the residents of the area where intervention was to be made. So the aim was a dual purpose approach where the tourists and the locals were to be seen as two broad categories of user groups, both almost equally important so that the benefits of the proposed design can be seen as pros by both.
