Created overall look and feel for restaurant, hotel, and commercial clients. Developed program requirements, adjacencies, bubble diagrams, to transform into space plan. Performed design research to source unique materials, furniture, and design solutions. Heavy emphasis on programming, schematic design, and design development.
Projects included:
• Established concept to bridge Toll Brothers multifamily building with hotel brand Element’s standards.
• Created multiple concept directions for National Gateway’s building repositioning.
• Designed and oversaw Streetsense’s Bethesda internal office renovations including presenting to internal board, budget management, sourcing local handymen and electricians, product tracking, and installation coordination.

Pitched design services to potential clients, synthesized client data to create programs, applied programs to space planning, created test fit options to best fit client needs, field surveyed selected spaces, and created presentations independently or as apart of a small team. Performed schematic design and design development, created construction documents, selected furniture and coordinated with furniture dealerships, and coordinated with MEP and Vendors. Active in all close out activities including construction administration (CA), attending weekly CA meetings, closing out submittals, creating RFIs, minimizing change orders, value engineering when necessary and day two coordination. Oversaw progress of junior staff.
Projects included:
• Oversaw all phases of design, unique features honor vending system, and structural engineer coordination for Skybridge amenity center in Bethesda, MD. 10,000 sq. ft design to take ground level shell space to a hospitality-style flexible lounge.
• Designed four packages with strong FF&E emphasis complete with flexible finishes, lighting options and furniture idea starters provided by Herman Miller for Port Covington, a unique developer opportunity with Avison and Young to develop area north of Baltimore’s inner harbor.
• Created barcode concept to take traditional retail to the future with tech influence including unique feature flexible broadcast and podcast space within the office for Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) 9,000 sq. ft tenant suite.
• Retrofitted existing desking furniture and phased renovation in place for Perfect Sense tech client expansion from one floor to two full floors within building.
• Repositioned ground floor lobby, collaborative open space, conference room, and basement level fitness center with locker rooms as well as designing new building signage for 1100 17th Street building.
• Conducted renovation in place project with traditional aesthetic over three floors and over 30,000 sq. ft. for American Association for Justice (AAJ). Unique opportunities this job presented was coordination with union trades and navigating DC green building code.
• Designed a transition aesthetic with special features of custom furniture, graphics, and culture shift from closed offices to workstations for National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) full floor tenant over 20,000 sq. ft., which was completed $60,000 under budget.

Performed both interior design and analyst roles. Interiors focused on local tech, research, and institutional design from programming to construction administration. Analyst role focused heavily on organizing and synthesizing field surveyed information into graphically pleasing and easy to interpret graphs, charts, and floor plans.
Projects included:
• Conducted facility condition assessments of Charleston public school system, synthesizing and organizing information for condition of flooring, paint, HVAC system, stairs/elevator, plumbing, and roof.
• Updated master AutoCAD files for seven buildings on North Carolina University’s campus.
• Converted Novella Clinic’s existing conditions to their architecture standards for a renovation in place.
• Major contributor to Ruby Deluxe bar, Insight Global, and Novella Clinic’s construction documents.
• Served as move management coordinator for North Carolina State University’s Ricks Hall, Harrelson Hall, Varsity Research Center, and Winston Hall.
