By analyzing the Saint- Bertin neighborhood, I had observed that the green space around the abbey ruin was a quality to this site. One of the major issues was, however, the isolation since the encircling channels and narrow streets made road access difficult. So I chose to proscribe the car but to promote pedestrian access by breaking this large islet in several smaller ones. The intervention therefore wanted to be as smooth as possible in order to fit through the existing. Parking spaces have been placed on the periphery, while the pedestrian and bicycle roads pass through in multiple locations on the site. Particular attention was paid to create a vegetal continuity through Saint-Omer. Finally, a host of housing and new services have been implemented in order to revitalize the area and make it more self-sufficient
