My name is Amy Lopez, and I’m a second-year student here at SMC. I was born and raised here in LA and I’m a first generation student. Ever since I was in elementary school I’ve been interested in architecture and interior design. This included spending many hours playing certain video games like Sims 4, Minecraft, and mobile home decorating games on the weekends. I’m very passionate about creating spaces through the design process. 

I enjoy listening to music and creating art. Every year I go camping at least one time a year. My all-time favorite place I’ve gone camping is at Mammoth Lakes, specifically Lake Mary. I’ve also been to Lake Tahoe, Sequoia National Park, and Yosemite National Park. I also enjoy snowboarding with friends and family in the winter.

In regard to my educational life, my goal is to graduate with a bachelor’s degree from an out-of-state college. In regard to other short-term goals, I hope to have small projects that can help my design skills improve in the future. Since I don’t have any professional experience in this job field, I’m not sure what exactly my long-term goal would be. I believe that after getting my bachelor’s degree, I want my long-term goal to inspire people to create big or small spaces and designs.
