About

I graduated from UCLA AUD's post-professional M.Arch. program this June. During my time here, I have been involved with exploring the potential of infrastructure design through its integration with robotics, composites, parametrics and mechanics. Prior to UCLA, I worked for two years with Larsen and Toubro Ltd. in Mumbai. Working directly under the department head, I was responsible for the implementation and management of BIM within the office. In addition to co-ordination with a number of consultant teams, I was also on the design teams for several large infrastructural and Commercial projects. My professional experience has made me confident to undertake a wide spectrum of responsibilities and polished my professional skills.

Explained in further details in my attached Resume, I was mainly associated with the design and development of a Commercial Headquarter building for L&T, designed for 10,000 people, having a Built-Up Area of approximately 1.8 million sq. ft. For this project, I prepared concept presentations, feasibility options, development drawings, design brief reports, book of quantities, area statements, cost estimation, budget sheets, material and finish selection boards, approval drawings, NOC documents, Ministry of Environment and Forest approval set, coordinated (Structure, MEP, Facade, Landscape, Traffic)construction drawing set. Other major responsibility entrusted to me was to build the BIM models and manage other discipline files for the project.

Education

University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Los Angeles, CA, US, MArch, Architecture

The Graduate program I attended at UCLA Suprastudio was the Post-Professional Masters in Architecture with specific focus on research and design of future cities. SUPRASTUDIO is a research platform in architecture education based out of UCLA Architecture and Urban Design (A.UD) that advances experimentation and cross-discipline collaboration among professors, students, and industry partners to expand the boundaries of architectural practice. Students work closely with a leading figure in architecture in a small class setting with 15 students on a dedicated research topic with seminars, critical studies, and related courses developed to complement each studio’s research theme. Partners from adjacent fields in technology, automotive, aerospace, entertainment and non-profit are brought in as collaborators to identify new areas of research and development. Under the umbrella of UCLA, a premier global research institution, SUPRASTUDIO fills a current void in architecture education by providing a dedicated program for advanced applied research that links education to industry.

At UCLA I was a part of the Craig Hodgetts Studio. For this SUPRASTUDIO we envisioned a conjunction of radical social, technological, and communications, innovations to propose a new urban framework in which transport, energy, domestic activity and work effort are redistributed according to profound changes in the human enterprise. The tools for such a revolutionary approach to architecture and urbanism are by now firmly in place, lacking only the vision and political will to put them all together.

The disintegrated element of our approach can be identified by the newly–formed, booming commercial entities which offer lodging, transportation, and cash-free transactions, disruptive fabrication and production technology, and the potential of self-sufficiency offered by innovations in energy production and storage.

Presently these innovations and more are layered more or less haphazardly onto extant structures, resulting in compounding of incongruities.

By identifying and analyzing trans-formative innovation, the studio will propose a new, integrated blueprint for urban development.
