Worked under Andrew Wells, FAIA, and Mark Wheeler, AIA to transform a historic auditorium space into a classroom which holds 370 students. The ‘cube’, clad in acoustic panels, holds lights and mechanical systems. The light cuts in the cube highlight and connect the original features of the auditorium with entry points. The suspended ‘cube’ changes the volume of the space to a classroom height while allowing the original architecture to remain untouched. I modeled the design in ArchiCAD 14, and produced all construction documents overseen by Mark Wheeler, AIA.
