My name is Amanda Salamone and I am a recent graduate with honors at the University of New Haven with a B.A in Interior Design. I am a hard working, driven designer that is passionate about what I can achieve in the field of design.
My view on design:
“Interior Design is the freedom to create a remarkable space combining light, texture, shape, and form. It is a space that tells an original story by mixing the pieces of the world around us, while creating a space that improves our everyday lives. It is when a vision becomes reality. Transforming a space to create something aesthetically pleasing will drastically enhance the occupants’ experience by creating a functional environment.”

Studying abroad in France really inspired me and helped open my eyes to a whole new spectrum of design. I was able to paint in the landscapes of Aix where Cezanne had painted Sainte Victoire and traveled to many cities in France where Van Gogh had lived painted and studied. I was also able to analyzing his paintings almost on the exact spot where it was painted. I was also completely immersed by Monet’s greatest works in the Musee de l'Orangerie in Paris. Standing in front of some of Gaudi famous works was one of the most memorable moments I could ever image. This is just a small piece of what I learned while living in Europe that will help continue to drive my passion in design.
