In the Architectural Lighting class, we were told to design a place of unity in our neighborhood that would take full advantage of daylighting while implementing appropriate artificial lighting strategies. My partner and I decided to focus on a church, taking into account solar alignment strategies and religious themes in the design. Halfway through the course, we also built a model in order to test different lighting and how it would affect the church - and what changes we could make to improve it. Throughout this term, we used Dialux, Sketchup, Revit, and Enscape to accurately design and model the church.
