I am an architecture student in my final semester at Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina. I grew up in a small town called Hamburg, located just outside of Buffalo, New York. In addition to expanding my skills as an aspiring architect and designer, I also enjoy drawing, painting and photography. In the future, my goal is to create spaces that have a positive impact to those who interact with them, and share my love for creativity and design with others. I also hope to inspire others to pursue their passions, in the same way that my mentors have inspired me.
Like many, I enjoyed playing with legos growing up, but the experience that truly influenced me to consider a career in architecture came during my freshman year of high school. I initially enrolled in a studio and art class solely because I needed the credit, but ended up finding my passion for designing and creating. From there, I ended up enrolling in 8 different art courses throughout my high school career. Through these classes, I have been able to meet several different teachers that I view as mentors, and I hope to one day inspire and help others in the same way that they have inspired and pushed me to become the person that I am today.
When it came time for me to start my college search process, I was torn between studying architecture or art education. One thing I was sure of though, was that I wanted to share my love for design and creating with others. Both the art classes that I have taken throughout my time in high school and my studio courses that I
have taken at Clemson have not only taught me how to use a variety of different mediums, but they have also taught me how to express my ideas in a way that is both creative and impactful. I am also extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to study abroad in Genova, Italy through the Clemson School of
architecture. My experiences abroad have given be a better understanding of architecture globally, as well as introducing me to the rich history of Italy as a whole.
After I complete my undergraduate degree, I plan to apply to grad school, and continue to explore different internship options. I am particularly interested in both commercial work, as well as the themed entertainment design field.
