BUCHAREST POP-UP DESIGN COMPETITION 2012, 3rd Place
The purpose of the competition was to create public design furniture using recycled materials. The final objects will "pop" in different areas of the city (Bucharest) , trying to make people aware of the urban unused space and also more carefull with the environment.
My concept was to use one of nature's genuine shape as an urban reminder to recycle so i choosed the nest, which also symbolises a new beginning, home, confort.
I choosed to recycle cables because they are present in every activity wether we are aware of it or not (computers, printers, internet cables, washing machines etc) and the waste is significant.
INTERNATIONAL ARCHITECTURE COMPETITION "FORGOTTEN PLACES", Honorable Mention
Participants to this competition are invited to identify in cities the spaces that lost their characteristics, importance for the community and have been, for several reasons, marginalized and excluded from the city circuit – FORGOTTEN PLACES.The project will illustrate a scenario capable to revitalize the studied places.
My proposal is concentrated in the center of the city (Bucharest) where a chain of public spaces with great potential are left unused.
The project develops the idea of multiple oasis hidden in the back of a vertical garden which protects you from the noise, dust and the effervescence of the city. People can spend time interact with eachother, reading, relaxing, or just watching the young artists creations exposed in the glass areas.
