MAD Architects has announced the design of a "cloud" tower for Tencent's Shenzhen headquarters, which is currently under construction.

Tencent Shenzhen Headquarters Park is located in the east of Dachan Bay Island, Qianhai, Bao'an District, Shenzhen. It is composed of five blocks, covering an area of about 80.90 hectares, with a total construction area of about 2 million square meters. Tencent will build a low-carbon, sustainable and user-friendly technology park that meets the standards of Green Construction.

The eastern part of Tencent's Shenzhen headquarters project, which MAD is responsible for, covers a total area of about 72,000 square meters, with a total construction area of about 412 thousand square meters, including two towers, three interconnected cloud buildings, and a separate water drop building. The height of the building gradually decreases from land to sea, forming a flowing urban skyline.

After the completion of the Eastern District, Tencent employees will provide a mobile, interconnected common garden-style office space.

The design makes the ground floor of the cloud building floating on the ground, showing a flowing attitude. The resulting open urban gray space not only provides the park with a variety of all-weather public places facing the sea, but also has the function of outdoor exhibition.

The southern cloud building can meet the needs of different scenarios such as release, exhibition, conference and exchange. The cloud living room is lifted into the air by four core tubes, and the two-story circular ribbed glass maximally opens the sea view interface. When people are in this place, they are surrounded by the ancient natural bay background and the vibrant urban life of Shenzhen, and their imagination and creativity are stimulated at this time.

The central and north end of the cloud building are mainly used as office space, each with an open landscape atrium: the central cloud building atrium connected to the sunken garden, completely open, not only the public space, but also the formation of a new circular facade; The North End Cloud Tower is covered by a semi-open shelllike ETFE sunroof.

The two different forms of the atrium not only enrich the space, but also enhance the building's shading, ventilation and energy saving effect, providing a more comfortable working environment for employees.

Under the three cloud buildings, the elevated ground of the park forms a garden green space and a square, which not only separates the pedestrian activity space from the motor vehicle lane, but also enables the traffic in the park to run in an orderly manner; It also realized the interconnection between the gray space, the West District Office Building and the TOD Group of Chowan Central Station, forming a multi-point connected small city complex, providing people with multi-level urban living space.
