Project for the construction of a new passenger terminal building and related facilities for the devel- opment of Boryspil State International Airport located in Kiev, the capital city of Ukraine. Reflecting the eastward enlargement of the European Union and the rapid economic growth of Ukraine, the air traffic demand in Kiev has significantly increased in the recent years, and the Ukrainian Government has emphasized the development of Boryspil State International Airport as one of the most important projects to be realized. In line with the common trend of Ukraine to be integrated into the European market, Boryspil Airport has also followed during the last decade, the concept of raising its standards and capacities to comply with its growing importance as the county’s biggest airport and home base for Ukrainian airlines. With the implementation of this Project, Boryspil State International Airport aims at providing high quality level for local and transfer passengers, pursuing the “Major Interna- tional Hub Airport for Central and Eastern Europe”. The Government of Japan has extended the JBIC’s Yen loan for the implementation of this Project, which constitute the first ODA loan extended by Japan to Ukraine.
