C.H.O.I.C.E. House

The C.H.O.I.C.E. House is a transient shelter project for people experiencing homelessness in Perry County, AL. Built in partnership with C.H.O.I.C.E., a 501(c)3 organization in Uniontown, AL, C.H.O.I.C.E. House is designed to house clients for thirty day stays while they work with a caseworker to secure long-term housing. The duplex contains two units, each meant to house between one and three occupants where the three occupants are always related and the third occupant is always a child. The site also contains a washer/dryer volume to be shared between the current units as well as two future units if the site expands in the future. The design and construction of this project was completed for the fulfillment of my B.Arch thesis, and was designed and built by myself and three teammates at Auburn's Rural Studio.
