I describe myself as being colorfully passionate, extremely social and having a deep concern for all life. Being a multi-dimensional thinker, critically and creatively, I have a high appreciation for all forms of art and creation. I'm not afraid of hard work. It is valued in my eyes, having worked my spare time away to get by.
My key personality trait is the ability to adapt comfortably to other work styles, to new people and environments and different levels of a project.
My personal work styles range from a completely methodical work ethic to conceptual explorations; driven by analytical, theoretical and philosophical ideals.
I wish to grow as an Architect and further myself in the field both professionally and academically, therefore with my knowledge I may benefit the lives around me
Studio Jobe, Durban, ZA, Canddate Architectural Technologist
My title was Candidate Architectural Technologist and worked in this relatively new company that specialized in various projects of different typologies which integrated Architectural Design and Submission Drawings.
I was the only employee for the first year so I would start and finish each project, among other things like admin work, business purchases and handle client meetings.
My focus areas for various projects were to model up drawings, furnish them, and finish them to prepare them for post-production.
Post-production is my specialty where I would create still images and video rendering.
I would also work on the technical drawings to get it submission ready for council.
The size of each project varied with residential, commercial, and mixed-use and each project varied in difficulty.
This job challenged me to wear many hats at once and test my multi-tasking abilities to juggle different stages of work and know what to prioritize.
I enjoyed learning many things and found a passion for project management and lecturing.
Ambro Afrique Architects, Durban, ZA, Architectural Technologist
My title was Architectural Technologist and I worked in this established company that specialized in large-scale commercial and mixed-use projects that integrated Architectural Design and Urban Planning.
My focus areas for various projects were to model up drawings, furnish them, and finish them to prepare them for post-production.
I would then work on still images and video rendering for presentations and clients.
The size of each project was large-scale and extremely elaborate which challenged me to push the boundaries of what the software could do and made me think differently about forms.
I enjoyed Urban Planning where Architecture and Design merge with town planning to create a functional and aesthetic space for people.
University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, Howard College, Architectural Honours
After gaining work experience I found I had a new way of tackling projects that require you to show and explain every part of your work.
Projects were all-encompassing with the large scale of each project, working in groups, and extremely detailed individualized parts.
Working on my treatise was difficult and faced many challenges but was extremely rewarding in the end.
University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, Howard College, BArch, Architectural Studies
This is an Undergraduate Degree program where I learned so much, and enjoyed developing my skills to get me ready for the working world.
I enjoyed History and Theory of Architecture which explained the purpose of our work and how it evolved over the years. Theory was my strong suit and I still am very passionate about it and try to integrate it in with whatever work I do.
Learning about Structures helped me understand the integrity of building design and learn to think more critically about design.
