I am an architecture student with a wide variety of skills and interests. I received my Bachelor of Science in Architecture with a concentration in Design Thinking from the University of Virginia, with minors in Architectural History and Anthropology.
As a designer I am interested in real-life involvement with user experience, such as graphic displays, event programing, social integration, digital marketing strategies, and exhibition development. My courses have taught me how to develop ideas from the research to prototyping stages using a variety of skill sets, as listed in my resume. I have experience using Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign for graphic presentations; and I have hands on experience with prototyping techniques including CNC modeling. I am also accustomed to working individually, and in teams, to anticipate the needs of long-term projects within fast-paced environments to efficiently meet deadlines.
Through these projects, I have developed technical skills that I can apply to develop creative solutions to multifaceted problems. While working on the DAACS Flowerdew project I found myself using ArcGIS to digitize detailed archeological maps and place them geographically so they could be merged with other research data. My Design Thinking focus pushed me to apply design principles to the development of anything from flyers, books, joints, buildings, complexes, to exhibitions. Not only was it necessary to develop my personal workflow, but small team management was also a major focus to anticipate the needs of long-term projects. Cumulatively, my experience has led me to develop an efficient workflow to navigate through the research, design, and development phases of any project.
I look forward to lending your company my experience to help further its goals, and taking part in work that will allow me to utilize and develop my unique skill set.
