In 2013, Aahana Miller graduated with Honors from Rhode Island School of Design with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Interior Architecture. At RISD, she participated in a study abroad program to Kyoto Seika University in Kyoto, Japan for four months, where her study of architecture was integrated with a practical housing-rehabilitation project for Tsunami victims. In 2013 she visited Costa Rica where she conceptualized, designed and built a prototype for a sustainable classroom for rural schools. She also completed designing and building furniture for a homeless shelter in Woonsocket, Rhode Island where she developed a system with a focus on the production of architectural effects through the design and fabrication of storage solutions.
After RISD she worked for two years in Mumbai at Somaya and Kalappa and at ABM Architects, before returning to grad school.
Presently, Aahana Miller is a graduate student doing her Master of Architecture at University of Pennsylvania (PennDesign) with a certificate in Historic Preservation. At PennDesign she is the Creative Operations Manager for Penn Student Design, liaising with designers to produce creative materials, including facilitation of print marketing projects such as flyers, posters and print design campaigns.
(She is also a graphic designer working on posters, logos, branding and websites.)
