Celebrating the Gaps

Thesis Statement: To create a safe, and inviting environment for refugees to adjust and integrate into society.

The refugees situation today is considered to be the largest humanitarian emergency of our era ; this project is looking at the problem in a way that follows the American values, especially San Francisco. The project vision is to be a hub for refugees that will help them adjust and blend into society, and give them a chance to give back to the society as well by enriching the culture.  The project mainly consists of: Housing, Educational Center, a Bazaar market, and a pathway through those programs that serves as a Journey Through the Refugee’s Culture.  Due to the shortage of land space in San Francisco, the location of this project was chosen by studying the Terrain Vague spaces around the freeway that separates the Dogpatch and Potrero Hill negiberhoods.
