My name is Hannah, Zihan Xiao. I hold a degree in the Master of Science Program in Advanced Architectural Design at Columbia University. I also hold a degree in Bachelor of Architecture from Iowa State University (ISU). During my study at ISU, I enrolled in an exchange program with TU Delft, spending 6 months in the Netherlands and West Europe where masterpieces of architecture dominate its major metropolitans.
My academic interests are rooted in innovative research and unconventional approaches in design disciplines that evoke the transformation of urban spaces by bringing their unique historical and cultural contexts into the design through conducting wide and deep research and challenging analytical abilities.
I am seeking a full-time opportunity, an internship, or other forms of collaboration to facilitate my aspiration and practice as a designer. I will be very happy to hear from you about such opportunities.
Iowa State University, Collage of Design, Ames, Peer Mentor
I assisted teaching DSN S 131 (DrawingI Representation) and critiqued in a detailed and analytical way for students’ drawing assignments. During the mentoring, I also inspired students to develop design critical cogitation by displaying personal portfolio, sketchbooks, and models and I introduced experiences in professional architecture design study and design procedures.
