About

To whom it may concern:

I believe my passion and professional experiences including over four year in New York would be great benefit to your firm. I have been exposed to the full phase of design processes from master planning and conceptual design to construction documentations. Program in which I was involved varied in phase and scale, from a large scale like ‘The Ark_Multi media event facility built on a custom 450ft x 160ft barge’ and ‘Forum 66 residential complex and ballroom in Shenyang’, to various interior projects, such as ‘Renovation of an existing 3-story two-family townhouse in New York’ and ‘Spring city 66 office tower lobby in Kunming’. I have also been involved in projects throughout the world and a variety of renowned design competitions like ‘south harbor renovation in Helsinki’, and ‘rehabilitating oil depot into a cultural depot park in Seoul’. Through the work experiences, I learned not only how to progress a project from one phase to another, but also how to deal with clients and inter agencies. I found teamwork and feedback truly important in order to provide clients with a result beyond their expectations. I am verse in modeling software like Rhinoceros 3D and V-ray, Sketch-Up Pro, and 3D Max, as well as great knowledge in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator. I’ve also elaborated regular AutoCAD work and performed design research.

In addition to my professional experiences, I graduated in Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design with a Post-Professional Master’s Degree from Columbia University in May 2014. My educational focus ranges from research-based multi-scale strategies, to theoretical explorations of the assembled environment, to comprehensive design. I studied on a variety of projects at different scales, from the design and development of new Madison Square Garden Complex as new event place, to new forms of curatorial and informational space for Egyptian gallery in Metropolitan Museum. Also, my main interest and strength is in, but not limited to; sustainable building infrastructure design and high-end residential housings. I achieved two honorable mention in the competition ‘Switch Guggenheim Museum New York’ and ‘Archstorming_Residential Stadium;Adaptive reuse’ in 2018. Both projects demonstrate my interest in combining design aesthetics with sustainable and innovative design factors.

I am verse in modeling software like Rhinoceros 3D, Sketch-Up Pro, Revit, and 3D Max, as well as great knowledge in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. I’ve also elaborated regular AutoCAD work and performed design research.

I always focus on how to express excitement and color through architecture in the spaces of daily life, akin to what we feel at an amusement park and the architectural language which is making entire form and containing the programs. My work sample reflects the dedication, knowledge, and outstanding improvement about my consideration accomplished in just a few years. I take pride in my ability to learn quickly, and I passionately enjoy doing so. I am eager to continue my design career with such a prestigious firm and I believe my assets as a young designer will greatly benefit on your firm.

Employment

Kevin Kennon Architect, PC, New York, NY, US, Senior Designer Associate

I used to work directly with CEO for the design issues in various scales of projects and then I discussed about the practical and detail issues with my project manager and detail expert. So, it was a like a boot camp and I developed my ability both in design and managing through my career, and I have muscle to use and I can run fast even in new condition.
When I was working as a junior architect, what I have to do is finish my work from direction in time. But, as a senior position, I had to think about the next step of process and consider about better options. Also, I had to give right direction to my team members efficiently. That’s the thing I still want to develop more through my career.
