About

My name is Yi-Ting Hsieh, I am from Taiwan and came to NYC for my master's degree in Interior Design at Pratt Institute. Before I came here I have more than seven years of professional experience working as an interior designer in Full house design, which is one of the biggest interior design firms in Taiwan. During my tenure at Full house design as Interior Designer and Project manager, I had the responsibility to oversee and manage each of my projects from start to finish. I take pleasure in the collaborative nature of the Interior design industry, growing up in a family that runs the business with people closely, and that made me become a natural communicator.

To me, interior design is not only about solving problems for the users but also is proposing a perspective of living. I would use persevering and goal-oriented to describe myself, adopting the spirit of my favorite furniture designer Hans Wegner’s intent on chair design, I believe that focusing on a topic and make it perfect is a fascinating thing. The order of design is the aim, and the logic of sequence is meaningful, in my design works, every segmentation and line has reason to exist. Wood is my favorite material, it provides space with gentleness, and mild, irregular depth grains give every wood different character, and those are factors to form a unique space. I strive for every projects no matter the scale of it because I really enjoy the sense of accomplishment from my clients who told me that they have a wonderful experience in the space.
