I am a recent graduate of the Master of Science in Architecture and Urban Design degree at Columbia University, specializing in analytical urbanism and architectural design. With six years of academic training and two years of professional working experience, I am confident that I have the education and experience necessary to be a successful and valuable addition to your team.
Throughout my academic journey, I engaged in diverse projects spanning urban research, urban design, data analysis, architecture, and landscape design. As the sole designer of an urban thesis project during my undergraduate studies, I conducted in-depth research into an era when people's lives were intimately intertwined with water. My project focused on the city of Quanzhou, delving into its history and culture, which was highly appreciated by the committee. Simultaneously, I immersed myself in the study of urban water systems and sustainability. This study also enabled me to apply comparable and creative planning strategies and landscaping approaches to address stormwater and river issues in Bogotá during my master's degree. In my graduate studies, I further pursued technology-focused courses to enhance my analytical research capabilities. For example, I employed tools like Grasshopper and Python, mastering a systematic approach to generative design, which inspired me to formulate innovative design guidelines for public spaces combined with contemporary social distancing considerations.
As for my professional career, I worked as an Architectural Designer for over two years and played a significant role in the Schematic Design phase for 12 projects. This encompassed tasks such as master planning, conceptual design, feasibility studies, and programming. I have harnessed Revit for modeling and am familiar with the BIM process across all departments. Additionally, I contributed to the Construction Documents phase for residential and public building projects, refining my skills in construction drawings. These experiences provided a holistic grasp of the project lifecycle and allowed me to apply the knowledge I learned in real-life scenarios.
